A Message from the Guides

Recently, I sat down with my spirit guides over a bowl of freshly picked strawberries and asked, "How can people best connect with their spiritual guidance team right now?" I didn't want you to have to wait for the workshop on Tuesday night to hear what they had to say, so I'm posting their answers here:

"Look, we're right here. All the time. There really isn't a magic formula to connect to us. You can't get it wrong. Mostly, you just need to give yourself permission to receive our messages.

The biggest work you will do is loving yourself enough to step aside and receive the care and clarity of guidance you have asked for.

We'll give you some pointers on how to do this, but, seriously, there is no right or wrong way to do this. Every person is different and will have their different styles of communicating. Keep loving yourself through this process.

First, shake it up. It's helpful to get silly - even if your need is great or your suffering is immense. If you can, jump up and down and shake yourself from head to toe. If that's not available to you, then shift your eyes up and down and side to side. Cross them.

Basically, what you are doing is disrupting a pattern of predictable thought. You are jolting your system into presence.

The hardest part of hearing us is getting past your own convoluted thoughts about not being good enough.

Second, reassure yourself that a message will come.

So many of you doubt whether "you're just making it up" that you block receiving the guidance. Tell yourself, "it's okay if I am making this up as long as it makes me feel loved and supported."

This affirmation is a good way to bypass the control mechanism in your brain so that you can feel good about the guidance that comes. You may make it up or you may not - it all gets filtered through your discernment function so it will feel the same. Over time, you will be able to tell the difference.

Lastly, discernment.

We never want you to give your power over to us. That is not the point of spiritual guidance. We are here to love you; to help you heal; to shine a light on areas of your life that may be in darkness. If you ever catch yourself saying, "I'm doing this because my guides told me to do this." then, stop yourself. It is important that you take the time to consider the guidance and act from your own place of discernment.

You must exercise this power within yourself to develop self-trust. You are not an empty vessel animated by our guidance. You are a whole self who choses your direction with spiritual guidance."
